2008, Casio has announced plans to release five new Exilim digital cameras including the high-speed Pro EX-F1 which boasts a super fast burst shooting rate of 60 frames per second - currently the the world's fastest according to Casio.

The 6.0 MP (effective), 12X optical zoom Pro EX-F1 Exilim Pro Ex-F1 features a high speed CMOS sensor and high speed LSI processor and the burst shooting rate of 60 frames per second (fps) and high speed movie recording means that up to 60 pre-recorded images can be saved in the camera’s buffer memory before the shutter is even depressed. By selecting the slow motion view function, users can take a still photograph and then view the moment in slow motion in the camera’s monitor, thus allowing them to choose their perfect shot.

Up to 60 shots can be taken at once, but the rate can be varied so that 60 shots per second for one second, or 5 shots per second for 12 seconds, are possible. Even in in dim light the rapid flash function allows up to 20 continuous shots at up to 7 frames per second.

The Ex-F1 records high speed movie footage at 1,200 fps allowing ultra-slow motion playback, and by simply pressing the movie button, recording high-definition movie footage is instantaneous with a screen size of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a rate of 60 fields per second.

The company is also showcasing four new-look models which offer increased function and performance - the Card EX-S10 and the Zoom series-EX-Z80, EX-Z200 and EX-Z100.

Casio introduced their “Card” series in 2002 with the slim-line "wearable card camera". The new Card EX-S10 model has a small, thin design but with 10.1 megapixels does not compromise on image resolution. The EX-S10 is just 3.71" wide, 2.15" high and 0.59" thin (9.4cms w, 5.5cms h, and 1.5cms thin), has a stainless steel case, four colors to choose from and records video in H.264 standard.

It’s not hard to work out the target audience for the EX-Z80, designed as the “fun” camera in this series with 8.1 megapixel and six “fashionable” colors including pale pink and vivid pink. A camera to match your shoes and handbag - purr-fect!

The EX-Z200 and the EX-Z100 models’ claim to fame is that they feature a 4x optical zoom lens that can shoot as wide as 28 mm (equivalent) and have Auto Best Shot which analyzes the scene and chooses the best shooting mode.
