Toshiba fast tracks SCiB battery technology

Toshiba’s Libretto W100 dual touch-screen mini-notebook

Toshiba has gone with the adage that two screens are better than one with its new libretto W100 ultra mobile PC (UMPC). Featuring dual 7-inch diagonal dual-touch LCD screens, the clamshell form factor W100 opens up to provide the equivalent of a 10-inch wide screen display that allows the desktop to be extended over both screens, different applications to be displayed on either screen, or one screen to be used for the virtual keyboard. The device can also be used as a netbook in the horizontal orientation, or flipped on its side for reading ebooks. Read More

Underwater HD camcorder antics with Sanyo's new Xacti

Sanyo has confirmed it will be expanding its range of gun-shaped Dual Camera Xacti devices this month with the launch of the DMX-CA100 - a full HD Dual camera suitable for underwater use. Able to withstand up to 3 meters of water, the Sanyo DMC-CA100 will have the capacity to record up to 60 minutes of full HD video MPEG-4 files (1920 x 1080 pixels). This device will also be able to capture 14-megapixel still images. Available in black, yellow or pink, sales for the Sony Xacti DMX-CA100 will start at the end of June 2010. Toshiba's CAMILEO compact camcorders to hit US this month

Toshiba is heading for the U.S. compact digital camcorder market with the introduction of the full-HD Camelio range. Due to hit stores on April 19, the new line is made up of the pocket-sized, 3.5 ounce S20 and two compact touch-screen models - the H30 and X100. All units include HDMI output, 3-inch LCD monitor, Internet upload hotkey and support for SD/SDHC memory cards. Read More
