Lenovo's duo of Honeycomb tablets to arrive in August

Lenovo has announced the launch of two Android-based 10.1-inch tablets - Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1 and Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet. The first is an entertainment and multimedia-oriented, Netflix-certified device, while the ThinkPad Tablet is tailored for the business market. Both devices are powered by dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processors and run Android 3.1 OS. Lenovo will introduce the tablets to the US market in August. Read More
Lenovo releases tough, slim and powerful ThinkPad X1 laptop

Lenovo has announced a successor to its 13.3-inch flagship X301 laptop with twice the processor performance and four times the graphics capabilities. Features of note in the new X1 include second generation Intel Core processor options, a choice of solid state or hard drive storage, Dolby Home Theater v4 sound through stereo speakers, new fast battery top-up technology and a brand new keyboard design. Field Tested: Lenovo's dual screen Thinkpad W700ds

Lenovo's W700ds has an ingeniously concealed second screen built into the lid that "pops out" via a spring loaded mechanism. There's also a laundry list of features including a built in webcam, fingerprint scanner, 5 USB ports, a FireWire port, a DisplayLink port, both VGA and DVI graphics, big bright 17" 1920x1200 display, 2 ExpressCard slots, an SD card reader, and couple of features that are rather specific to high end photography and graphics design. Lenovo has been forced to announce the ThinkPad W700ds ahead of the planned CES announcement after a page on the IBM website went live early - and if there's ever been a laptop worthy of being referred to as "the hamburger with the lot", it's this one. Lenovo is introducing a new security feature for ThinkPad notebooks which allows users to remotely disable their PC via SMS. Developed in conjunction with Phoenix Technologies, the Constant Secure Remote Disable feature is effectively a kill switch that works by creating a mobile phone text command such as “lockdown now PC” or “PC shut off” and sending it to the computer's onboard broadband service. If the PC is turned off when the command is sent, it's automatically disabled the next time it registers on the network. Read More
