The Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition

In February 1989, Mazda introduced what would become the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time – the MX-5 Miata. Twenty-five years and over 940,000 sales later, Mazda has now unveiled a special 25th Anniversary Edition of the car, which we spied at this year's New York International Auto Show.  Read More

While most of Canada seems content to let the rest of the world worry about designing exotic vehicles, some in Quebec see things slightly differently. Recently the francophone province has brought us such automotive morsels as the Felino cb7 and the MK5 track racer, and now Dubuc SLC’s Tomahawk, a multi-talented 2-seater kit-car, capable of supporting an electric drive train, or one pilfered from a gas-powered car or motorcycle, can be added to the list of boutique Quebecois offerings.  Read More

The Zenos E10 made its debut at Autosport International 2014 in Birmingham

Sometimes less is more. In cooking, that means cutting back on the spices can produce fuller flavors filled with subtleties. In cars, it means that cutting down the weight while holding onto the horsepower gives you something that goes round a corner like a stabbed rat. This week Zeno Cars tried its hand at this recipe as it launched its super light E10 sports car at Autosport International 2014 in Birmingham.  Read More

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster makes its public debut aboard the Nave Cavour

With its sharp, angular lines and arrow-shaped front end, the Lamborghini Veneno has always had a slightly military feel about it. So we probably shouldn't be too surprised that the Italian automaker chose the flight deck of the Italian naval aircraft carrier Nave Cavour for the public debut of the limited edition Roadster version this week in Abu Dhabi.  Read More

Brilliant drive: The 616 hp 12C Spider (Photo: Angus MacKenzie/gizmag.com)

It’s interesting how a little context will shape one’s opinions. Turns out I’d been an accidental fan of McLaren for years. Before the name became synonymous with Formula 1, and before the release of the iconic F1 supercar in the 90s, there were slotcars. Yes you heard me, slotcars. Going through some old Kodaks, I realized I’d in fact been driving scaled down, electric McLarens since the 70s. So upon learning I’d be driving the full-scale version of McLaren’s 12C Spider, I was as pleased as Scottish schoolboy in September.  Read More

The newest Caterham uses live-axle rear suspension inspired by classic Sevens

The latest generation of track-honed roadsters offer quick, corner-hugging performance at a more affordable price point. However, unless you're in a position to use a fast, furious, roofless two-seater as a daily commuter, a niche track-weekend auto may still be well out of your price range. Caterham is looking to change this with its all-new, entry-level Seven 160 that went up for pre-order this week.  Read More
