Epic EVs opens the order book for its electric Bat-trike, the Torq Roadster
Epic Electric Vehicles is set to unveil its three-wheeled electric Torq Roadster at a public event on April 6. With the new roadster, Epic founder Chris Anthony has shifted emphasis from range to raw performance and fun (Anthony was also a co-founder of the ill-fated long-range Aptera EV). Clearly, Anthony has his eyes on a very different market this time around – Batman, possibly, if the vehicle's appearance is any gauge. Read More

In early July we brought you news of a hand-built one-off collaboration between Bavarian motoring giant BMW and Milanese designer/coachbuilder Zagato – the BMW Zagato Coupe. It was a popular piece and it seems Gizmag readers aren’t the only ones with taste; the vehicle had such a positive reception that BMW and Zagato agreed to create a roadster version in time for the Pebble Beach Concours at Monterey. With barely six weeks between design sketch and completion it was a tough task but the result is, if anything, more beautiful than the Coupe. Read More
The stuffing of a very large engine into the front of a compact car body has always been a recipe for automotive desirability. If the chassis can actually handle the power and weight while maintaining stability and poise then motoring nirvana beckons. Add the option of a stowable roof to allow sunbathing, sightseeing, and posing in equal measure and you surely have a winner. The only question that remains is why it took Aston Martin so long to launch this obvious extension to the range. Read More
There's some confusion as to whether the new Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS GT (to give it its full title) is a replacement or an addition to the SLS stable. The official line is that it is a faster and more focused additional model but it seems likely that the standard SLS will quietly disappear. It make less and less sense in the face of the monstrous SL 63 and 65s now available. The SLS GT, however, makes perfect sense - it fixes the niggle that every single reviewer has complained about since day one. Gearbox, gearbox, gearbox. Read More
We’re not sure how hotly contested this particular world record is, but at the very least it does provide a nice bit of video to start the working week – particularly for those who spent the weekend hacking around the golf course chasing that elusive hole in one. Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard has claimed the record for the “farthest golf shot to be caught in a moving car, ever.” Read More
As much as we love reading a spec sheet spouting figures such as 1,200-hp, nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.6 seconds, and a top speed of 255 mph (410 km/h), what we really want to see is the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in action. Bugatti has granted that wish with the release of a new promo video. Read More
