The BRABUS take on the Mercedes C Class wagon

Being a European auto tuner is an odd thing. It takes a certain amount of chutzpa to say, "What does someone like Mercedes know about auto design? I'll show them how to really do it." Yet, there are a number of tuning firms out there, and BRABUS has been at it longer than most. The German company just took a run at Mercedes' C–Class wagon and seems to have slathered on more of everything.  Read More

Countless make and model records were broken at all three of the Amelia Island Concours elite collectible car auctions on the weekend, with a 1960 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB Cabriolet fetching US$6,380,000 and becoming one of the top 100 cars ever sold at auction, 23 cars selling for more than a million (RM-Sothebys 13, Gooding seven and Bonhams three), and $101 million worth of cars sold in three days. One of a handful of motoring events that attracts one of the most commercially-desirable audiences of high net worth individuals in the world, Gizmag looks at what to expect at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance and surrounding auctions. Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion car, Marlene Dietrich's Rolls Royce, plus 37 cars we think are capable of achieving a million dollars or more when they cross the auction block. It may look like a minivan with a power cord hanging out of it, but what lies beneath the rather suburban skin of the Mercedes Concept V-ision e plug-in hybrid might just be the future of hybrid drive technology.  Read More

The new GT3 racer from Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its new GT3 racer. It is an altogether more hedonistic and angry-looking version of its GT sibling, which looks positively sedentary in comparison. The GT3 will race in the FIA GT3 Championship.  Read More

The EX 366 is the latest expedition vehicle in Bimobil's line

The Sprinter isn't necessarily the Mercedes-Benz platform that immediately comes to mind when we think rugged, AWD expedition vehicle. In fact, Mercedes has said that the Sprinter is the number one base vehicle for luxury camper vans, not exactly a description that makes one think of muddy tracks and rocky hill climbs. That said, German camper manufacturer Bimobil has managed to create a convincingly tough expedition vehicle by planting its own living module on top of an AWD Sprinter chassis. This is one Sprinter that can travel and camp virtually anywhere in the world.  Read More

The all-new Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe debuts at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show

With a 577-hp biturbo V8 powering a 0-60 mph time of just 3.9 seconds, the Mercedes S63 AMG 4Matic Coupe isn't exactly a slouch. Or at least it didn't seem that way before German tuner Brabus turned it into an out-and-out power-n-speed machine. The S63-based Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe bolts to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and doesn't stop accelerating until the needle hits 217 mph.  Read More

The G 500 4x4 Squared takes advantage of a portal axle setup for unstoppable off road prow...

There might be something in the water over at Mercedes right now. From the ultra luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S600 to the insane 6x6 G-Class AMG, Stuttgart’s engineers and product planners seem to be full of interesting ideas at the moment. Those same engineers seem to have done it again with the new G500 4x4 Squared, (or G500 4x42) a near-production G-Wagen show car fitted with a portal axle system that gives it greater off road capability.  Read More
