Fujifilm's new Finepix REAL 3D W3

It's been just over a year since Fujifilm went three dimensional with the release of its FinePix Real 3D camera, the W1. Now the company has announced its second 3D compact camera, the Finepix REAL 3D W3. Although it inherits some of the feature set from its predecessor, the W3 gets a larger LCD display and now records video in high definition, albeit at 720p. The touchscreen Z800EXR is amongst four new FinePix cameras from Fujifilm

The latest FinePix compact camera releases from Fujifilm offer either 12 or 14 megapixel sensors, between 5x and 18x optical zoom lenses with both wide- and super wide-angle varieties available, and both touchscreen and non-touchscreen LCD displays. Technical Image Press Association names photography award winners for 2010

The TIPA Awards have been run and won for 2010, meaning potential purchasers can make informed purchasing decisions backed by the collective opinions of 28 international photographic magazine editors. The big winners in the DSLR categories were the Nikon D3s (Professional) Canon EOS 7D (Expert), Canon EOS 550D (Advanced) and Pentax K-x (Entry). Fujifilm has announced a slew of new camera models across their digital and film lines.

At the PMA 2010 convention Fujifilm’s theme was “Expand the World of Imaging”. The company took its theme literally, announcing 18 different camera models across their digital and film product lines. From compact digital point-and-shoot models to a folding medium-format film camera, Fujifilm unveiled a broad array of new and updated technology including Fujinon optics, HD movie capability, facial recognition (for humans and pets), and 3D imaging.  Read More

FUJIFILM demonstrates 3D camera, 3D photo viewer, and 3D printing technology

Among the display of new camera models at PMA 2009 FUJIFILM demonstrated a compelling 3D photo and movie technology, that uses a dual lens/sensor camera to record 3D images. These images can then be played back without the need for special glasses on a digital display, or even printed.
