Dell released three new additions to its XPS range at this year's IFA in Berlin: the XPS One 27 all-in-one and the XPS 10 and XPS Duo 12 laptop/tablet hybrids. Alienware, Dell's subsidiary responsible for designing gamer-centric PCs, has updated its lineup of desktop PCs with the Alienware Aurora R4. Like all Alienware offerings, the specs are customizable with the Aurora R4 offering a choice of Intel Core i7 3000-series six-core CPUs, dual high-end GPUs from AMD or NVIDIA and up to four HDDs or SSDs. It's also equipped with liquid CPU cooling, active venting and an easily openable micro ATX chassis with external and internal lighting, while the famous alien head logo serves as a power button. Dell has rolled out three new laptops: the Sandy Bridge-upgraded Inspiron 13z and 14z, as well as the business-tailored 13.3-inch Dell Vostro V131. Powered by Intel's Huron River platform and a choice of Intel Core CPUs, the Inspiron 13z and 14z feature 13.3- or 14-inch displays respectively, and come with aluminum lids and palm rests. The Vostro V131 is a thin (0.83 inch/2.1 cm) and light (3.6 lbs/1.64 kg) laptop, reportedly offering up to 9.5 hours of battery life. Read More

After a good deal of speculation, Dell has announced two new additions to its Alienware gaming brand and one updated favorite. The new flagship M18x desktop replacement notebook – modestly described by the company as the "most powerful 18-inch gaming laptop in the universe" – features a factory-overclocked second generation Core i7 processor, dual graphics and supports up to 32GB of DDR3 memory. The M14x comes in two display options, dual or quad Core i7 processors and an impressive eight hour battery life. Dell puts a new spin on tablet computing with the Inspiron Duo
With the popularity of Apple’s iPad it’s easy to forget that most tablet computers used to be laptops with a hinge that allowed the touchscreen display to be swiveled around and folded down over the keyboard. Such designs are still available today but have had their thunder (and much of their market share) stolen by the touchscreen-only designs like the iPad. Dell releases lightweight 11.6-inch Inspiron M101z laptop
The Inspiron M101z 11.6-inch laptop from Dell has netbook-like dimensions and weighs less than four pounds yet sports a fast Athlon processor, a couple of gigabytes of memory and a good-sized hard disk drive. There's also the promise of over six and a half hours battery life from its standard 6-cell battery, a full-width keyboard, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wireless N connectivity and a USB port that can be used to power connected devices, even when the laptop is not switched on.
