"Going up" at 45 mph: Hitachi to deliver world's fastest elevator

Hitachi has announced that it’s installing the world's fastest ultra-high-speed elevators in the Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre skyscraper in Guangzhou, China. Making up two out of a total of 95 elevators in the building, the new lifts use a range of technologies to produce record-breaking speeds of 1,200 m/min (that's 44.7 mph, or 72 km/h) while still meeting the necessary standards of safety and comfort according to Hitachi. BYD takes aim at world market with Qin sports hybrid

BYD, based in Shenzhen, China, is the world’s biggest rechargeable battery manufacturer and has been branching into the automotive sector since 2003. On Tuesday, it took aim at the global market with the official launch of its performance-based Qin PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) sports saloon. China's Chang'e-3 makes successful Moon landing

Following 12 minutes of precise maneuvering which began in lunar orbit, China's Chang'e-3 lunar lander, with the Yu Tu (Jade Rabbit) lunar rover onboard, successfully landed on the Moon's surface at 13:11 UT Saturday night. At this point, Chang'e-3's solar panels were opened to begin charging the rover's batteries for its first drive about the lunar surface, which is expected to begin about seven hours after landing. Suspended over an old quarry, Coop Himmelb(l)au's winning design for the Dawang Mountain Resort Changsha, China design competition rolls an indoor ski slope, water park and entertainment "ice world" into one sleek structure.
