The iPod touch is more or less an iPhone without the phone functionality. When connected to a Wi-Fi network, it can do most of the same functions as the iPhone. Apple's anxiously-awaited third generation iPad was introduced in San Francisco today, with a host of upgrades and additions including a bright new Retina display driven by an A5X chip with quad-core graphics, a 5-megapixel iSight camera and now, full 1080p HD video capability. T-Mobile has announced that it will soon offer a highly spec'd smartphone with its 4G (HSPA+) network support in the U.S., in the form of the HTC Amaze 4G. Slated for an October 12th release, the Amaze features a 4.3-inch qHD (540x960) touchscreen, along with an 8-megapixel camera equipped with several features tailored for fans of smartphone photography. Australia's first LTE mobile broadband network launched
Australians are getting their first taste of LTE (long-term evolution) mobile network speed. Telecommunications provider Telstra launched its USB 4G mobile broadband modem today with the promise of coverage in capital city CBDs and 30 regional and metropolitan centers with download speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 40Mbps and upload speeds of 1Mbps to 10Mbps. Motorola Droid Bionic arrives on Verizon tomorrow
