The MSI U115 Hybrid notebook uses both a Solid State Disk and a Hard Disk Drive, allowing users to switch between them at will. The unique configuration allows users to take advantage of the low energy consumption, stability, shock resistance and speed of SSDs, while enjoying the high capacity of HDDs. The notebook’s 6-cell battery provides up to 12 hours of juice (when the HDD is in ECO mode), making it perfect for extended use out of the office, without the need for extra batteries or restrictive power cords.

The SSD has a capacity of 8GB or 16GB – light for a laptop, but compensated by the 120GB or 160GB of the 2.5-inch SATA drive. The OS is loaded on the SSD, reducing boot times. The 1kg notebook measures 26cm by 18cm, with a 10-inch widescreen LCD display (1024x600), and supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth. The Hybrid supports up to 2GB of memory, and includes a 4-in-1 card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, and a 1.3/2.0 Megapixel webcam.
