With battery life still the biggest gripe from iPhone users it’s not surprising to see iPhone accessory maker Mophie adding to their line of external batteries for the device with the Mophie juice pack air for 3G iPhones.

The juice pack air conceals a 1200mAh lithium polymer rechargeable external battery inside a protective form-fitting case to provide virtually twice the battery life of the iPhone 3G. Mophie touts the 4.9” high by 2.59” wide by 0.75” deep unit as the world’s thinnest Apple certified “Works With iPhone” external battery in the world, which also includes pass-through USB charging and sync with iTunes, an on/off switch and in integrated 4 LED charge status indicator.

Power hungry iPhone users can pre-order the Mophie juice pack air now or wait until spring when it will be available through Apple stores worldwide or at mophie.com for USD$79.99.
