September 9, 2008 ION Audio’s US$149.95 DESK ROCKER speaker system is perfect for consumers who enjoy playing music as much as they enjoy listening to it. In addition to playing audio from any PC, Mac, TV, DVD and CD, the USB-compatible speaker set can play audio from connected guitars or keyboards, and record it in CD-quality directly onto a computer.
The DESK ROCKER system consists of two self-powered desktop speakers, which plug into a standard wall outlet. The speakers use separate drivers for high and low frequencies, and users can tweak audio playback with the Bass Boost switch, which enhances low frequencies. Standard RCA audio outputs connect the DESK ROCKER to most players, a USB port connects it to PCs and Macs (without requiring driver installation), and a headphone output allows users to enjoy their music in privacy. To prevent interference with computers and TVs, the speakers are magnetically shielded.
The speaker set comes with a carry-case and voltage-switchable power supply.
