Chances are, your current PC looks nothing like this one. HP's new Envy all-in-one includes an enormous 34-inch curved screen, alongside solid internals and a simple, attractive design.

The Envy Curved All-in-One is all about the display experience. The 34-inch screen has 3,440 x 1,440 resolution, offering 99 percent of the sRGB color gamut for accurate color reproduction. According to HP, the 21:9 aspect ratio makes for an immersive viewing experience.

The Windows 10-running system will ship with a choice of Intel Core i5 and i7 chips, 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and either integrated graphics or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960A GPU. Storage options include a 2 TB HDD and a 128 GB SSD, and there's an Intel RealSense Camera up front with Windows Hello compatibility.

The focus is clearly on that huge display, but the audio has also been taken into consideration, with a total of six Bang & Olufsen speakers installed. There's also HDMI-in functionality here, allowing you to use the machine as an external display.

Curved panels are pretty standard nowadays, but we're used to seeing them on TV sets, not all-in-ones. It's not the first system we've seen the feature on such a system – Samsung outed a 27-inch all-in-one earlier this year – but its size and aspect ratio make it quite the interesting beast.

The 34-inch Envy Curved All-in-One will launch in November, starting at US$1,800. There are also new 24 and 27-inch Envy AiOs with flat panels on the way, with optional AMD Radeon R7 and R9 graphics inside. They're set to ship in November, starting at $1,000 and $1,200, respectively.

Sexy pc. Now I'm a little pissed that I just bought a new pc & monitor a few months ago.

Web, documents, etc - are all portrait. Curved screen means you cannot orient this to take advantage of that.

Lisc HP screen to other PC makers & Apple. Awesome. Id like this for my future I Mac, if price drops for video monitor alone with plugs or USB for Printer, UVerse & power alone. super.

This presents a lot of issues to your average user.
Firstly, for me the SSD is too small. If it's meant to only hold the OS and basic operating software then OK, but anything even vaguely commercial in nature such as Adobe CC or QuarkXpress will swamp the SSD. There's a 2Tb HDD but no backup in a thing that size?
Build it as a monitor and they will come - this all in one concept fails at the first hurdle for me

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! Not even in the ballpark of reality!

Totally USELESS Overpriced PC STARTINg at $1800 all in one with 128gb SSD?????? the monitor is not 4k, but some odd resolution that is not standard anywhere. good luck with os drivers if needed. that should be 512gb or more standard.
And a unique monitor wasted in an all in one pc? AND Even thought they state there is an HDMI port on it, I doubt you can use this as an external display. Someone probably messed up and it is an OUTPUT PORT. SO When the pc part dies and the monitor part must go with it. You cannot continue to use the monitor when replacing or upgrading the "PC"

I'm both baffled and perplexed about this device. Is anyone else? There are so many incongruities that I don't know where to begin. Is HP just messing with us, testing what sort of feedback they would get when tossing some stuff together? It's not April first is it?

The curved nature of this screen does not inhibit it from operating in portrait mode. In fact, I think the curviness will add a similar sense of immersion vertically as the landscape mode does horizontally.
