June 3, 2008 Harman Kardon has announced the successor to its Bridge docking station for iPod. The appropriately titled Bridge II retains the smooth curved line of the original Bridge docking station, connecting the iPod touch, nano and all Click Wheel models to a Harman Kardon Bridge-ready audio/video component and enables expanded capabilities such as audio/video playback from the iPod through a home entertainment system, on-screen menu display, remote control operation and charging.

The downside is that the Bridge II is not compatible with other audio/video equipment brands and only is compatible with Harman Kardon's DMC 1000, AVR 354, AVR 47 Series, AVR 146, AVR 45 Series, AVR 40 Series and HK 3490 components.

The Harman Kardon Bridge II will be available in early northern summer 2008 at a suggested retail price of USD$129 and it will also be included with the company's AVR 354 receiver.
