We're still getting a heap of traffic to our Guitar Hero World Tour vs Rock Band 2 article, and a lot of it is from people looking to find out whether the Guitar Hero World Tour instruments work with Rock Band, and vice versa. We've done some experimenting - here's the results.

This list is by no means complete, but we've done the testing ourselves, so it's accurate and 100% speculation-free.

Xbox 360

The Guitar Hero 2 Xplorer, the Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul and the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar work with Rock Band: AC/DC Live (and all versions of Guitar Hero).

The Lips microphones do not work with Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band, Rock Band 2 or Rock Band: AC/DC Live. Guitar Hero: Metallica will be the first third-party game to support Lips microphones.

PlayStation 3

The Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul and the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar work with Rock Band and Rock Band 2.

The Rock Band guitar works with Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour.

The Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit works with Rock Band 2. It does not work with Rock Band.

The Rock Band drum kit works with Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour.

The SingStar wireless microphones will work with Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2.

The Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 1/2 microphones will not work with any version of SingStar PS3.
