The “red dot” is awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, one of the oldest and most acclaimed design institutes in Europe, the award has international importance and is regarded worldwide as a trademark for high design quality. The award was presented from 1955 on as the “Rote Punkt” and since 1992 as “red dot”. The EDAG Cinema 7D” is the first prize winner of the new category “red dot award: Design Concept” for innovative design concepts.

From the point of view of the rear passengers, the most obvious consideration has been the "staggering" of the seats and the lack of head rests obstructing the view: Great views for all passengers!

For this the EDAG Design Studio took the cinema feeling into the interior of the Cinema 7D. Elevated seat rows and off-centre seats offer seven of the best cinema seats in the “cinema on wheels”. All passengers can enjoy the ride like the driver wherever they are sat in this new van. A joint driving experience with an event character.

The EDAG Cinema 7D is only one of many futuristic cars from the Design Studio of the worldwide partner of the international automotive industry. The innovative vehicle concepts, mainly designed for the vehicle manufacturers are only presented to the public once a year. Then at international motor shows EDAG shows its concept cars and their mobile vision and underlines the lead of the German designs in the international competition.

The prize-winning product Cinema 7D will be shown as part of an exhibition in Essen, Singapore, Taipeh and Shanghai.
