September 10, 2005 Though the advanced Polar-Adidas Fusion training system is still some way off, Polar has just released a new range of running computers (the RS100, RS200 and the RS200sd) which provide specific running features and heart rate information for the entry level, goal orientated, or event runner. Features include as lap/splits and independent count down timers, plus a suite of software to analyse what you’re doing with your bod – calorie expenditure tracker, heart rate and even a fitness test. There are five fully-programmable target heart rate zones that can be customised to support your individual training needs. The graphics indicate where you are within your target zone, guiding you to achieve your desired training result. The large screen makes viewing your running information easier which offers a fantastic user-configurable dashboard for a human being when used (RS200sd only) with a Polar S1 Footpod advanced inertial sensor to provide real time running speed, pace and distance … and when the Adidas Fusion partnership bears fruit, the footpod will be incorporated into the shoe.
