Article Summary
June 7, 2005 He was one of the World's most successful motorsports contestants, and the most successful Rally driver in history when he retired last year. Then he got the call from Citroen asking him to help out for one rally. Sainz stepped into the car last weekend, ran fourth in the WRC Rally of Turkey and obviously missed the cut and thrust of competition at the highest level. So the one-off drive to get Citroen's WRC defence back on track (mission accomplished) has been extended, and Sainz has now announced he will accept the offer of another final drive of the Citroen Xsara WRC, this time making his final, final appearance in the Greek round, the Acropolis Rally on 24 - 26 June.
