The Glow Station from Crayola allows kids to create drawings from light when their rooms get dark. The canvas starts to glow when the lights go out, and drawings made using a "light-wand" stay illuminated for approximately 30 seconds before they start to disappear.

By moving the light wand either on or near the glowing canvas, kids can create glow-in-the-dark art with strokes of light. Stencil sheets create space scenes complete with space shuttles, asteroids and astronauts, or a day at the zoo with gorillas and snakes.

Textured light sheets reveal patterns such as spider webs, river rocks and 3D animal prints with swift swipes of the light wand and kids can experiment with layering texture sheets with the stencil sheets to give their drawings an even more lifelike look.

The short lifespan of each drawing means the glow-in-the-dark creativity keeps going without having to clean up. However, the board can also be erased immediately by turning on the lights.

Since Glow Station is powered only by light and a child’s imagination, the activity is completely mess-free and can be used anywhere. It can be hung up on a wall, rolled up to take on a trip, or spread out on the kitchen table or family room floor.

The glow-in-the-dark toy recently received FamilyFun magazine’s Toy of the Year (T.O.Y) Award.

The Crayola Glow Station is available for a recommended retail price of USD$29.99.
