January 25, 2008 The European design team at Bloom has created the Bloom Fresco contemporary chair - a child’s chair which is not only beautiful to look at but is suitable from birth to five years. You can say goodbye to those ugly plastic high chairs which take up valuable kitchen space and are impossible to keep clean. Featuring a funky egg-shape and dazzling colors such as rosy pink and bermuda blue, this chair won’t clash with your existing kitchen décor and you’ll be able to use it for years. The Bloom Fresco starts as a cradle from birth to six months, it then transforms into a high chair and finally becomes a play chair suitable for children from 36 months up to 36 kg (79 lbs).
Bloom was founded by four dads who were keen to introduce innovative, contemporary baby furniture to suit stylish, modern families. Unlike most high chairs which cannot be used until your child can sit upright, the Fresco starts as a cradle or ‘comfort nest’ from birth to six months. It then transforms into a high chair to use at the table or with a dishwasher-safe tray and finally becomes a play chair with removable play tray suitable for older children.
The Fresco works just like an office chair as it has pneumatic-assist, easy-lift height adjustment and the swivel seat rotates 360 degrees allowing multiple positions. The 5-point safety harness with height adjustable shoulder straps will keep your child safe and it moves easily across the floor thanks to the enclosed castor wheels under the front end of the base. It has clean lines and a sleek finish so cleaning should be a breeze and you can choose from five bright micro suede options or three more subdued leatherette options.
At USD$400, it’s not the cheapest high chair on the market but if it’s going to last you for five years, it’s probably worth it. See bloom for Internet and retail suppliers.
