South Jersey Gas is now offering its customers the ability to manage their energy consumption, practice energy efficiency and reduce their energy costs using a free web-based service. Developed by Aclara Software, the new service gives customers access to detailed energy information relating to their utility bills.

Customers will have direct access to their utility account so that they can perform a bill analysis at any time to determine how their home uses energy; this will then assist in analyzing the energy efficiency of their appliances. Users will also have the options to find out how their home energy use compares with similar homes in their area. In addition to the detailed analysis of their usage, customers can access tools and recommendations on how to reduce their consumption along with the annual savings they can achieve.

“This software is a valuable service for our customers. We strongly urge all of our customers to identify ways to reduce their energy consumption to save money and improve their overall energy efficiency,” said Edward J. Graham, president and CEO of South Jersey Gas. Customers will also be able to view past bills to track their usage over a period of time, and will be able to access statewide energy efficiency programs. South Jersey gas currently provides natural gas service to over 335,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers.
