From Hanwha Japan Co., Ltd. comes a video camera specifically designed to be used as a black box video recording system for your car. The X-Vue K3 is a compact camera that can hold up to 2 hours of video footage if you use the 2 gigabyte SD memory card that comes included. When the memory card is full, the camera will go on shooting on a continuous loop by deleting the old files and starting anew.

The X-Vue K3 uses the MPEG4 (AVI) file format, and shoots up to 20 frames per second at a 640 x 480 resolution. It can also record audio, so if you want to take somebody on a virtual drive around town making a video with the X-Vue K3 might be a good way to go.

The body measures a compact 4 x 1.6 x 3 inches (102 x 41 x 77mm) and weighs 3.3 ounces (or 95g), making it easily mountable behind your rear-view mirror. It is powered by a 12-24V DC car adaptor that connects to your lighter which is very handy, although the wire that drops down from the camera might annoy some people.

No word on whether or not this will be made available in stores, but for now Hanwha's product page links to Rakuten and Yahoo online shopping pages for the X-Vue K3. It's priced there at 14,800 yen (or about US$157).
