March 29, 2008 Now here’s a novel idea – it’s a mobile pedal-powered pub for up to 17 people. It all began in Holland and now appears to be spreading around the world, with franchises now appearing in America. Local laws about consuming alcohol on public roads restrict actual drinking on the move, but it’s an ideal pub crawl conveyance, instant parade float, tailgating venue and all-purpose group activity with guaranteed fun (read the forums).

The Pedalpub has five pedalling seats, ten freeloader (no pedalling) seats, a bartender and a driver, the latter two preferably sober, all at US$150.00 per hour rental fee. There’s another advantage for those countries where it’s illegal to smoke indoors – you can smoke in this pub.
