The MONOWALKER Hikingtrailer allows hikers to tow their backpacks behind them

Once when I was a kid, I unwisely agreed to deliver newspapers for a friend of mine while he was away. The first time I tried to lift the gargantuan sack-o-papers, it was so heavy that I ended up pinned on the ground underneath it. Much to my humiliation, I ended up having to load the newspapers into our wheelbarrow, and deliver them that way. Well, it now turns out that I was simply ahead of my time – German outdoors company MONOWALKER recently unveiled its novel pack system, which includes one configuration that is not unlike a towed one-wheeled wheelbarrow.  Read More

Never have to 'hold on' for too long again - the Bumper Dumper

When taking a long scenic drive or getting away camping for the weekend, one guarantee aside from the picturesque views and camp side tranquility is that you, or one of your fellow adventurers are going to need to answer a call of nature at a most inappropriate time – i.e. in the car in the middle of nowhere or halfway through a forest hike. Well gone are the days of the “phantom squat” or ducking behind a tree and hoping not to be stumbled on by a family of tourists. Stunning retro feel to Rob Millington's concept caravan piece

If the mere mention of the word caravan gives you terrifying visions of formica fold-out tables, thermos flasks full of weak tea or being forced to play bridge with a bunch of sensible beige trouser-wearing accountants then fear not, there are those who are trying to leave such stale, cliched images behind and inject some modern thinking into the world of mobile holidaying. One person trying to bring some much needed cool to the world of the caravan is Rob Millington, who sought to create "something that had quality to rival that of a luxury yacht" with this gorgeous concept design.  Read More

Dooit light weight sports trailer

Packing your favorite toys and making for the great outdoors doesn't have to mean firing up the gas-guzzling 4WD and hitching a dual-axle trailer. Light-weight trailers make sense - they save fuel, eliminate the need for roof racks and you don't need a monster truck to tow them. Designs like the Dooit sports trailer from Activity Trailers also offer a highly versatile platform that can accommodate a long list of outdoor gear - kayaks, cargo boxes, bikes - and in this case, there's even the option of a fold out tent.  Read More
