Gizmag tries out Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies' i-H2GO hydrogen-powered car

At the end of last month, Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies began shipments of its latest hydrogen fuel cell-powered remote-control toy car, the i-H2GO. Like its predecessor, the H2GO, it runs on hydrogen obtained from user-supplied water. The main thing that's new about the i-H2GO, however, is the fact that it is now controlled using a free app on the user's existing smartphone. I got my hands on an early production model, mainly just so that I could truthfully say "I've driven a fuel cell car."  Read More

If you're a regular reader of Gizmag, then you've probably noticed that we're avid fans of Lego and the many amazing contraptions often created with them. Hobbico has produced a wide range of remote-controlled vehicles over its long history, but its latest offering still managed to pique our interest. Earlier this month, when the company released the Duratrax 835E, a remote-controlled buggy that's built to handle a lot of punishment without losing its speed, we knew we had to try it out for ourselves. In an effort to bring parents and children living in poor communities closer together, Supaksirin Wongsilp has designed a toy that promotes interaction at one of the times and places families are sure to come together – bedtime inside the mosquito net. Her DIY Storytelling Kit lets parents narrate a story as they assemble story characters along with their children to hang inside the net. Instead of passively waiting to fall asleep, parents and kids get a little play time together that doesn't break up their routine.  Read More
