Sanyo’s Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1

Consumer cameras continue to shrink and now Sanyo has laid claim to the title of the world's smallest, thinnest and lightest Full HD consumer video camera with its new VPC-CS1. The camera is part of Sanyo’s Xacti line that includes a range of Dual cameras for capturing both video and still images. With its body measuring just 1.06-inches (2.7cm) thick the VPC-CS1 is slim enough to stick in your jeans pocket to ensure you’ll have a camera on hand to capture those unexpected video-worthy moments in glorious Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution.  Read More

Sanyo's David Cabanban details some of the technology furthering Sanyo's 'Clean Energy Loo...

We met with Sanyo's David Cabanban Sanyo at CES 2010 and he was kind enough to speak to us about the recent Sanyo-Panasonic alliance as well as Sanyo's new solar panel that is translucent, allowing it to capture solar energy not only from on top of the panel, but also from light reflected off the ground. David also took us through the finer points of the eneloop bike we first spied in December 2008 and we jumped aboard for a test ride. The bike features impressive power-assisted technology that amplifies the rider's pedaling, making cycling up hills or at speeds of up to 15mph that much easier.  Read More

Now this is very significant because it effectively provides a ruggedized still and video camera at a very reasonable price point.  Read More

All models sport a 3-inch LCD screen

The convergence of video and still cameras has been happening practically since the first digital cameras rolled off the production line. It’s now pretty standard for still cameras to be able to capture short bursts of video and it’s easy to capture a still pic using most video cameras. Sanyo’s Xacti dual camera range seeks to blur the lines between still and video cameras even further by allowing the capture of still and 60 fps video images simultaneously.  Read More
