Just a month and a half ago, Qoros
was a Chinese-Israeli automaker showing off vanilla, nondescript designs like the Qoros 3 City SUV
(those missing doors are there to help highlight the interior, not for visual effect). We knew that change was in the air
, and after the Shanghai auto show, Qoros is now the warped mind behind one of the meanest, strangest small crossover designs in recent memory. The Qoros 2 SUV PHEV Concept may be friendly to the environment, but it's downright nasty to anyone that looks over in its direction.
The Qoros 2 crossover SUV is due to make its first official appearance at the Shanghai Motor Show on April 20. The firm officially revealed a sketch of the concept earlier this week, complete with the usual oversized wheels and squashed proportions typical of a show car, but we’ve managed to get our hands on images that provide clearer insight into how the real thing will look when it enters production towards the end of 2015.
It's de rigueur for upmarket brands to have an e-bike in the stable these days, so it was no surprise that aspiring international brand Qoros
should show its eBIQE in Geneva last week. The big surprise was the cloud connectivity and a five inch touchscreen dashboard with an astonishing array of information services. Cheap? NO! Cool? YES!
Every major auto show has its share of car debuts. Rarer is the debut of an entirely new automotive brand. In Detroit, we saw a first look at Bob Lutz's VL Automotive
. The upcoming Geneva Motor Show will also host at least one brand debut as Chinese manufacturer Qoros shows its first vehicle and two concepts.
