Logitech has announced the new M600 Touch Mouse, where the familiar clicky buttons and scr...

There's no doubt about it, we live in a touch-enabled world. Everywhere you look there's a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer obeying the fingertip commands of users. Separate input peripherals like keyboards and mice have also had their keys and buttons replaced by a smooth, touch-enabled surface. Although somewhat late to the party (Apple introduced its Magic Mouse as far back as 2009), Logitech is about to release its own Windows 7 mouse called the M600.  Read More

Nieuwe Heren's 'Beauty and the Geek' concept incorporates a keyboard into a pair of jeans

Where to start with the "Beauty and the Geek" wearable keyboard. It's tempting to launch into a spiel about cafe-hopping hipsters that might just (and I mean just) be tempted by a pair of jeans with a built-in keyboard. Anything to lighten the load, non? But it's hard to imagine even the least self-aware urbanite willing to subject himself to the inevitable crotch-stares that BatG would surely attract - even when he's not typing. Which isn't to dismiss Nieuwe Heren's design - it does incorporate some rather neat ideas.  Read More

Logitech is soon to launch its Cube mouse and presentation device, with automatic 'Present...

When is a cube not a cube? When it's a Logitech Cube. That is, a mouse and presentation device which, though called a Cube is not a cube. You follow? Here's the thing: when you put it on a desk it behaves like a mouse, but when you pick it up it automatically goes into "Presenter Mode" for navigating PowerPoint presentations like a pro (because without one, PowerPoint is really, really hard). But it's the Cube's in-built gestures (all both of them) that separate it from the herd. Warning: this article contains unavoidable double entendres.  Read More

The Sphere 2 is a high-end computer mouse made of surgical grade stainless steel with eith...

We've seen quite a few gadgets made out of gold throughout the years. From a gold-plated USB flash drive to a 24 carat Gold- and Platinum-leafed Aston Martin DB7, gold has long been a symbol of class and a way to add a little flash to what might otherwise be an ordinary gadget. Now we can add computer mice to that long list of fancy gold items, with the new Sphere 2 by Ore Object. The mouse is made of surgical grade stainless steel with either a titanium, gold, or platinum finish. Both stain and dirt resistant, the mouse's surface repels germs, and can be easily sanitized if necessary.  Read More

LG's LSM-100 mouse doubles as a scanner when holding down the Smart Scan button

The miniaturization of electronics has meant that the inner workings of a mouse can be crammed inside a package that is much smaller than is ergonomically recommended for such a device. This has freed up mouse manufacturers to put some of that wasted space to good use by extending the capabilities of the ubiquitous pointing peripheral. We recently looked at the Canon Mark I that combines a mouse, keyboard and calculator and now LG is getting in on the multi-capable mouse action with what strikes us as a very good idea - a mouse that doubles as a handheld scanner.  Read More
