Italian company Vado Libero recently launched a collection of innovative furniture pieces designed to compliment a cycling lifestyle. We checked out the collection during this year's Milan Design Week and it stood out by virtue of its practical design, craftsmanship and use of high quality materials. The doors have opened at the 54th Salone Internazionale Del Mobile. The epic event is showcasing a huge collection of the latest home-furnishing designs from Italy and around the globe, with over 2,000 exhibitors filling the 204,850 sq m (2.2 million sq ft) of the Rho Milan Fairgrounds in Italy. Wrapping up our coverage on the Milan Design Week 2013, we’ve taken a look at some of the innovative and new ideas which graced the various exhibition spaces of FuoriSalone. The special event has been running parallel to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile since 1990 and each year sees hundreds of independent designers and architects inhabit local shops, buildings and public spaces in and around central Milan. By showcasing an array of creative designs, FuoriSalone hopes to launch the careers of young designers from around the world, while at the same time giving the public a limited time access to view; experience and in some cases purchase from the collection. Recently, Gizmag was lucky enough to meet a diverse range of young designers taking part in this year’s SaloneSatellite, which runs alongside the Salone Internazionale del Mobile as part of Milan Design Week. Dedicated to up-and-coming designers under the age of 35, the event is a melting pot of some of the best innovative new works from around the world. Maserati has partnered with Italian furniture manufacturer Zanotta to create a limited-edition armchair which premiered this week during Milan Design Week. The Maserati by Zanotta lounge chair was created by designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, founders of Palomba Serafini Associates, Milan, in homage to the new Maserati Quattroporte. Read More
