Mercedes-Benz

The Mute concept will serve as a starting point for Visio.M

Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler and BMW are typically seen facing off against each other to win the hearts, minds and wallets of luxury car buyers. However, the challenges of developing a mass-produced electric car have inspired the two pillars of German luxury to put aside their rivalry and team up on a city car project.  Read More

The Sprinter JetVan on display at the 2012 New York Auto Show

Mercedes-Benz cars are pretty plush, luxurious vehicles, although even the most optioned-out S Class really can't compete with the pure comfort and style of a private jet ... but this Mercedes van can. The JetVan Sprinter was specially outfitted by Ventura, California-based Becker Automotive Design for display at the New York Auto Show. It brings a level of luxury that not even the average limousine can offer.  Read More

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz AMG G63

Mercedes-Benz has never been shy of the absurd (R-class anyone?) and the Affalterbach works – home of the AMG division – must be a regular giggle-fest. The company is quite happy to indulge the hooligan in its well-heeled clients without a hint of embarrassment. It’s not exactly thinking outside the box, more taking a box and sticking an absurdly massive engine in it. The box in question this time is the decades-old, ex-military transport Geländewagen or G-class. Delicious.  Read More

The Mercedes-Benz brand name holds up well in any company, so it's not surprising that is being extended into other luxury markets. This time last year we were writing about Mercedes' first luxury helicopter, and the big news from the Milan Furniture Fair is that Mercedes-Benz Style has presented a furniture collection and it will be sold worldwide via exclusive furniture stores, showrooms and interior design stores from October 2012.  Read More

Mercedes Benz is making quite a name for itself in the Chinese market at present. Last week it won its first Formula One race for half a century, and it did so in Shanghai. Next week it shows the Style Coupé Concept at Auto China in Beijing. China has 1.3 billion inhabitants, many of whom are getting wealthy quickly. Though the penetration of cars into the Chinese population is only at the same percentage as America was at during the first World War (about 1917 at this point), China's car market is already the world's largest. Mercedes Benz is clearly targeting the growing middle class wealth with this production-ready executive coupé.  Read More

Mercedes-Benz has released further details of its new Citan ahead of its first public appearance at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover in September. Designed to "round out" the company's delivery van range by providing an urban-oriented alternative to the Sprinter and the Vito, the Citan will offer a choice of three lengths and three turbodiesel engine variants.  Read More

Mercedes Benz won its first Formula One Grand Prix for 57 years in China today, completing the successful comeback many thought it could not achieve. Winning driver Nico Rosberg took pole position for the race ahead of teammate and seven time champion Michael Schumacher, before driving a calculated race to put the Silver Arrow back in the winners circle.  Read More

The 2013 G-Class maintains traditional styling with a few subtle updates

Mercedes-Benz debuted its 2013 G-Class off-roader this week. The vehicle receives some updates for the 2013 model year, but keeps its tough, rugged look and drive. Hard-nosed off-roader outside, Mercedes inside.  Read More

The strength of the world's emerging economies was on display at the opening of the Thai Motor Show today. For the next 10 days, 170,000 people a day will visit the show, and despite the country having been largely under water for much of 2011, the Thai motor industry looks more buoyant than ever. Almost every major manufacturer had something on show we haven't seen before. Great picture gallery.  Read More
