The Bentley EXP 9 F all-wheel drive luxury Sport Utility Vehicle concept

You could be excused for having missed the birth of a new class of automobile - the super SUV. Eterniti coined the term for its 620 hp supercar based on the Porsche Cayenne, but in short order a number of other contenders with massive horsepower have emerged. The 600hp Lamborghini Urus, Maserati Kubang and Bentley EXP 9 have emerged. The Bentley EXP 9 gets three-quarters of a Bugatti Veyron engine in the form of a twin-turbo 6.0 liter W12 (with 800 Nm of torque) while the Kubang is odds-on to contain a Ferrari 450 bhp V8.  Read More

The 2012 Infiniti Artemis

Boutique luxury carmaker Eterniti Motors is a London-based manufacturer of prestige performance automobiles. The company's first offering is named the Eterniti Artemis - a remanufactured Porsche Cayenne that will compete against the new SUVs from Bentley, Lamborghini and Maserati in the luxury SUV segment. The engineering prototype went on display today at the Auto China 2012 international motor show in Beijing.  Read More

The Maserati is attempting to set a new record for a trans-Atlantic crossing by a mono-hul...

Maserati is swapping the bitumen for the deep blue by backing an attempt to set a new record for a trans-Atlantic crossing. A crew of seven, skippered by Giovanni Soldini, has set sail from the port of Cadiz in southwestern Spain in a super maxi yacht named after the Italian supercar manufacturer. They are headed for San Salvador in the Bahamas on a 3,884 nautical miles (4,469 miles/7,193 km) journey.  Read More

Two years ago, the U.S. Treasury helped to broker an arranged marriage between the Daimler-jilted Chrysler and an unlikely Italian suitor in the form of the Fiat Group of companies. Even before consummation it was clear that we would see all manner of cross-brand rebadging amongst the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat, Abarth, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Ferrari branches of the new extended family, and so it has come to pass. It's been known for some time that Fiat's highly-successful commercial range will be sold in the United States under the Dodge brand and now comes the news that Maserati will announce an SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show that is based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Read More

The SSC Tuatara

Shelby Super Cars has finally pulled the wraps off the car it has had under development for several years which is aiming for 280 mph. The aluminum and carbon fiber SSC Tuatara was styled by talented American designer Jason Castriota, and will run a mid-rear mounted, seven-litre, twin-turbo, Quad camshaft V8 producing 1,350 bhp. Shelby previously held the title of the world's fastest production car with the 1183 bhp, twin-turbo V8 Ultimate Aero TT which ran 412.68 km/h (256.18 mph). It bested the previous fastest, the original 1001 bhp Bugatti Veyron's 408 km/h (254 mph) but lost the title back to the French marque last year when a 1200 bhp Bugatti Veyron Super Sport ran 431 km/h (268 mph).
