If you've so much as picked up an electric guitar in the past few decades then you're more than likely familiar with the Marshall Amps brand. You might not be quite so aware of the company's line of stereo speakers, developed in partnership with Marshall Headphones. The Kilburn is the latest product to bring the brand's timeless looks into the home audio arena, offering a compact, wire-free listening experience with a lengthy (claimed) battery life.
Marshall first dipped its toes
into the headphone market with the excellent Major on-ear headphones and Minor in-ear monitors launched in 2010. The iconic brand has now announced its first over-ear model, the Marshall Monitor, which allows users to choose between two different listening experiences.
For the last half-century, Marshall Amps have helped shape the sound of modern music. They've traveled on the Highway to Hell
with AC/DC, been on the receiving end of some Monterey grinding from Jimi Hendrix and have even shared the stage with God himself, but now the iconic brand is heading to our living rooms with the launch of the Hanwell. Developed in partnership with Marshall Headphones and Zound Industries, the new active loudspeaker is the first home audio product to sport the Marshall script logo and continues the late Jim Marshall's legacy of loud.

in the U.S., Germany's Musikmesse is a chance for the music industry to showcase both old favorites and new technology. Among the rows of classic amps on show at Marshall's booth this year is something that may look like an amp from the Jim Marshall signature series, but which is nothing of the sort. The authentic Marshall amp head and cabinet facing of the prototype Marshall Fridge open up to reveal 4.4 cubic feet (124 liters) of can or bottle chilling storage space, with handy can storage on the inside of the door and a mini freezer to feed users with a steady supply of ice cubes.
The details of Marshall's first foray into the headphones market have finally appeared. Two flavors have been created, the over-the-head cans called the Major and some earphones named Minor. The headband of the Major phones have Jim Marshall's signature scrawled underneath and is covered in the same vinyl used for the company's iconic amplifiers. The Minor earphones have a snug-fit design and come with a Marshall cable clip to leave jealous onlookers in no doubt as to their pedigree.
Marshall amplifiers have been at the center of rock's universe for nearly five decades.
