zoomIt gives access to SD card content on an iPhone

The zoomIt is an SD card reader for an iPhone or iPod Touch that, in conjunction with the zoomIt app, lets users access all iPhone OS 3.0 file types contained on an SD card including photos, music, video and miscellaneous files such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and PDF files. It also lets users copy files stored on the iPhone or iPod Touch to an SD card without needing to connect to a camera, Mac or PC. Read More

New from electronics maker Parrot comes the AR.Drone, a Wi-Fi helicopter with dual cameras and augmented-reality video streaming, that you control using your iPhone or iPod Touch. Although the RC flyer is still in the prototype stage, Parrot has been demonstrating it at the 2010 CES show in Las Vegas. The AR.Drone features four rotors and interchangeable hulls for flying both indoors and outside. Apple gives iPod touch a speed and storage boost – but no camera

Apple kept the announcements coming at its Rock and Roll event with an updated iPod touch lineup. The entry-level 8GB touch has received a price drop, while the previous 16GB and 32GB models have been replaced with 32GB and 64GB versions that are selling for the same prices as their predecessors. The two larger capacity models have also received a bump in performance that Apple says will be up to 50 percent faster than the previous touch and support for OpenGL ES 2.0, which suggests the new models are sporting the same CPU as the iPhone 3GS. Looks like crafty iPhone app developers have come up with another handy use for the iPhone. The Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting that California gaming authorities are warning their Nevada neighbors to be on the lookout for gamblers using blackjack card-counting programs such as Card Counter or A Blackjack Card Counter that run on either the iPhone or iPod Touch. iPhone gets turn-by-turn GPS navigation via xGPS jailbreak app

While TomTom has had a functional turn-by-turn GPS application working in the lab since June last year, the "complicated issues" preventing a launch that Apple mentioned a couple of weeks later obviously haven't been sorted out - but that hasn't stopped the xGPS team from bringing turn-by-turn to the iPhone and iPod touch in the form of a jailbreak app. Read More
