Tradinno is the star of Germany's oldest folk play

St. George is famous for slaying a dragon, but he’d have a real challenge on his hands if he showed up today in Furth im Wald, Germany. There he’d discover the streets of this town of 9,000 being stalked by an 11-ton fire-breathing dragon with a steel skeleton and a diesel engine for a heart. Built by Zollner Elektronik AG, the robotic monster is the star of Germany’s oldest folk play and, according to the 2014 edition of the Guinness World Records book, the world's largest four-legged walking robot.  Read More

Airplanes seem to be the default standard when automakers want to demonstrate the pulling power of a particular vehicle. Nissan has stuck with this yardstick in using its Patrol 4WD to pull a fully-laden Ilyushin Il-76 cargo plane weighing 170.9 tons over 50 m to set a new Guinness World Record.  Read More

Back in February at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, Abdo “Dado” Feghali set a new Guinness World Record by getting sideways in a stock Chevrolet Camaro SS fitted with an EasyDrift system for over 10 minutes, covering a distance of 6.95 miles (11.18 km). Pretty impressive, right? Well, it’s not looking quite so impressive after BMW Performance Center Instructor Johan Schwartz spent a large slab of his Saturday in a continuous drift that covered an insane 51.28 miles (82.52 km).  Read More

The Harwell Dekatron computer is a 1950s computer having roughly the weight and size of a Hummer H3 and the computing power of a four-function pocket calculator. Having been restored to its original operating condition using 95 percent original parts, it is now the oldest functioning programmable digital computer in the world. Guinness might have been onto something, when, in 1973, they named the Dekatron the Most Durable Computer in the World.  Read More

During the recent Ferrari Racing Days at Silverstone Circuit event in the U.K., onlookers got to see not one, but more than 900 Ferraris circling the track in a grand spectacle.
