It's been about three years since we last tested one of Zero Motorcycles' electric bikes, and in that time, the company has been very busy. Compared to the 2011 Zero S, the 2014 Zero SR has between 200-400 percent more everything – riding this bike was an absolutely shocking progress report on the state of the art. Brammo releases details and pricing for 2014 Empulse

Brammo has updated its Empulse and Empulse R for 2014 with a 4.5 kg weight reduction, new instruments and a set of continuous-compound Continental SportAttack2 tires. In most other respects, the Empluse is identical to last year's model though it now meets EU regulations and distribution will begin in the UK and Europe soon. The 2014 Empulse runs to US$17,000 and the R model will cost an extra $2000. Read More

Voxan Wattman claims to be "most powerful electric motorcycle in the world"

A new claimant for the title of "most powerful electric motorcycle in the world" was presented to admirers at the Paris Motor Show on Monday. The Voxan Wattman electric motorcycle, with 150 kW (200 hp) of power at full tilt, can pull the 350 kg (770 lb) bike from 0 to 160 km/h (0-100 mph) in 5.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 170 km/h (106 mph). With styling based on a scorpion's exoskeleton, this dramatic new entry is searching for its place in the sun. Read More

Caterham charged to produce e-bikes and motorcycles
