West Coast Chill lays claim to title of "World's First Self-Chilling Beverage"

Miller Beer may have announced its plans to do so several years ago, but now someone else is actually going through with it ... releasing a beverage in a self-chilling can, that is. At the end of the first quarter of this year, Joseph Company International will be launching its West Coast Chill all-natural energy drink, which will come in the company's patented Chill Can. When buyers press a tab on the can, the temperature of the liquid inside will decrease by 30ºF within three minutes. Read More
While Mother Nature would definitely applaud your use of reusable beverage containers instead of merely recyclable ones (or worst yet, disposable ones), there are some situations in which you don’t want to be toting that coffee flask you bought at Starbucks. When you’re out hiking or biking, for instance, it would be nice to have something that stays sealed when dumped into a bag, and that’s compact enough that it doesn’t take up a lot of space. Really, what would fit the bill nicely is a canned drink, but that’s in a reusable container ... enter the Eco Can. Personally, I’m not a fan of bottled water. Firstly, tap water in many parts of the world is safe, tastes fine, and it's free. Then there's the waste that bottled water causes – an enormous amount of energy is consumed in manufacture and most bottles end up in landfill. So when I see a product like the Vapur, I instantly warm to it.
