Dell has released a photo printer that uses the same Zero-ink technology found in the Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Instant Mobile Photo Printer and PoGo Instant Digital Camera. Dell’s Wasabi PZ310 Ultramobile Photo Printer holds up to 12 sheets of adhesive-backed ZINK Paper, and can connect to a digital camera via PictBridge or wirelessly to a camera phone or computer via Bluetooth. And the world’s thinnest laptop for this month is…. the new Dell Adamo! Yes folks we have a new claimant to the world’s thinnest laptop title with dimensions of 13.03 x 9.5 x 0.65-inches and Dell pointing out that, at its thickest point, the new Adamo is thinner than any other laptop. Taking a leaf out of Apple’s book, the new laptops are chassis milled from a single piece of aluminum featuring precision detailing and a scalloped backlit keyboard and feature a high definition edge-to-edge glass display. Of course when thin is in, traditional platter HDD’s are out, so the Adamo laptops sport a 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD) as standard, as well as Draft-Wireless N, Bluetooth 2.1m 2 USB ports, a USB/eSATA combo port, Display Port, RJ-45 port and up to 5+ hours of battery life based on preliminary lab testing. Dell has announced a 10-inch model to join it's Mini line-up, the Inspiron Mini 10. Weighing in at 2.86 lbs (1.3 kgs), the Mini 10 features a multi-touch trackpad with gesture support, an HDMI output, and a 92% keyboard that solves two common netbook keyboard issues by adding a properly sized right Shift key, and not putting a Function key where you expect the left Control key to be. Dell has released a big brother for its Inspiron Mini 9. Perhaps aiming for the customer that thinks a 9 or 10-inch display is too small, but a full size laptop is overkill for their needs, the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 features a bigger-than-your-average-Netbook 12.1-inch WXGA display, and runs on Netbook standard Intel Atom CPU. The hard drives are of the traditional platter variety in 60GB or 80GB sizes instead of the SSD drives found in the Mini 9 and the Mini 12 comes with 1GB of RAM, a built-in webcam and Windows Vista Home Basic – although XP and Ubuntu variants are due by year’s end. Dell and Goodwill Industries have added Virginia to the list of States offering their “Reconnect” drop-off program for the recycling of unwanted computers. The program aims to divert over 2.7 million pounds of used computers and computer equipment from area landfills over the next year; and provide consumer education on the importance of environmentally-responsible computer disposal.
