Body-builder in an Armani suit? Volvo's latest concept design aims to marry power and refi...

Volvo has previewed its latest concept ahead of a launch at the Frankfurt Motor show next month. The plug-in hybrid Concept Coupe aims to provide a window into the company's future direction with a "naturally powerful" design that hints at a certain hidden brutality while still retaining a sense of refinement.  Read More

The Rolls-Royce Wraith (Photo: Rolls-Royce)

The new-look Rolls-Royce has ticked off its first decade in business since relaunching under BMW ownership with the most potent car in its history, the Wraith coupe. The Wraith heralds a major new innovation for the company in its Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT), which gives its 8-speed ZF gearbox the ability to plan the drive ahead according to GPS data. We recently had the chance to take a closer look at Rolls-Royce's latest two-door lounge.  Read More

Just when you thought you couldn’t fit one more SUV into the market, along comes Volkswagen with the new CrossBlue Coupé concept. With the unveiling of the Coupé (which isn’t really a coupe) at the Shanghai Show, VW clearly has its sights set on impressing the burgeoning Chinese market.  Read More

The Callaway AeroWagon package broadens the hatchback on the new Corvette

Chevrolet offered the first Corvette hatchback on the 1982 Collector Edition. This model and future Corvettes that repeated the hatchback feature added convenience and versatility to the sports coupe. Apparently Callaway doesn't feel that Chevy developed the hatchback enough over the past three decades and has broadened the hatchback on the new Corvette, creating a Corvette wagon.  Read More

The Aston Martin Vanquish Centenary Edition

Last week, on January 15, Aston Martin celebrated its centenary. To mark the occasion, the car maker unveiled its Centenary Edition Vanquish. Billed by Aston Martin as the “ultimate GT car,” this bespoke version of the luxury coupe will be available worldwide, though only 100 vehicles will be built. The company has also announced that similar centenary editions of the V8 Vantage, DB9 and Rapide are in the offing.  Read More

The BMW Concept Series 4

BMW’s Concept 4 Series Coupe has made its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The fourth generation of the company's mid-range coupe line presents a slightly larger and more sporty version of the earlier Series 3 that manages to show a good deal of originality while retaining the BMW identity.  Read More

BMW's best selling 3-Series has seen six generations in five body styles over four decades...

BMW's best selling 3-Series has for nearly four decades been the brand's introductory model – the first taste of a BMW for prospective aficionados. As the BMW range has grown, the larger 5-Series and 7-Series have found more sporty, more stylish and more upmarket coupe derivatives in the 6-Series and 8-Series respectively. Now, the pattern is set to continue with the 4-series, to be shown as a concept at the NAIAS (Detroit Motor Show) in January, but one already slated for production within 12 months.  Read More

The HB Coupé comes in several colors and combnations

A weight of under 1,800 pounds (815 kg), a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) under five seconds, and a production of only 40 examples – those sound like numbers that should appeal to many a car collector, especially when he focuses his eyes on the smooth, retro-inspired body of the Huet Brothers Coupé. The limited edition car is officially available for reservation, and the Dutch manufacturer is hustling to fill the remaining pre-orders it needs to begin production.  Read More

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator

We’re used to “special editions” from auto manufacturers trying to lift sales with a lick of paint and some fancy decals, but when Rolls-Royce does a special edition it’s a much more cerebral and artisanal endeavor as befits the mindset of its customers. The Phantom Coupe Aviator recently shown at Pebble Beach is a subtle but rather lovely limited edition inspired by the Rolls-Royce engined Supermarine aircraft of the 1930s; a precursor to the iconic Spitfire and from a time when cars and aircraft engines were actually made by the same company.  Read More

2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Roadster

There's some confusion as to whether the new Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS GT (to give it its full title) is a replacement or an addition to the SLS stable. The official line is that it is a faster and more focused additional model but it seems likely that the standard SLS will quietly disappear. It make less and less sense in the face of the monstrous SL 63 and 65s now available. The SLS GT, however, makes perfect sense - it fixes the niggle that every single reviewer has complained about since day one. Gearbox, gearbox, gearbox.  Read More
