The BMW Zagato Roadster

In early July we brought you news of a hand-built one-off collaboration between Bavarian motoring giant BMW and Milanese designer/coachbuilder Zagato – the BMW Zagato Coupe. It was a popular piece and it seems Gizmag readers aren’t the only ones with taste; the vehicle had such a positive reception that BMW and Zagato agreed to create a roadster version in time for the Pebble Beach Concours at Monterey. With barely six weeks between design sketch and completion it was a tough task but the result is, if anything, more beautiful than the Coupe.  Read More

AC Schnitzer makes the BMW M Bike Carbon Racer even more 'carbon'

Tuners are a staple in the high performance auto market, building bigger, badder and more extreme versions of sports and luxury cars. AC Schnitzer is one such tuner, offering services for BMW vehicles. The latest vehicle it's chosen to tune isn't a 7 Series or an X5; it's a bicycle.  Read More

BMW Motorrad has been busying itself perfecting an electric scooter design for some time now and, following the early prototype E Scooter we first reported on last year, and the more fully formed Concept e model which popped up a few months later, the company has now unveiled a new “near-production” electric scooter named the BMW C evolution which boasts a reported 100 kilometers (62 miles) range from one full charge and some impressive styling to match.  Read More

With the Olympics just days away, one of the more intriguing structures of London 2012 has come into focus. BMW has fully revealed its Olympic Park Pavilion. The BMW Zagato Coupe is a brand new, one-off, handmade collaboration between BMW and Milan...

The Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como in Italy is a most beautiful and exclusive place. Each year it hosts the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este to celebrate the skills and craftsmanship of the motor industry’s best "carrozzeria" - coachbuilders in English - and a mouth-watering display of classic handmade motor cars is the result. BMW regularly sponsors the event and shows off a vintage car from its collection. This year, however, they pulled off something completely unexpected, a spectacular brand new, one-off, handmade vehicle made in collaboration with Milan’s Zagato workshop.  Read More

The defining feature of the BMW Olympic Pavilion is its waterfall plinth

It's July, which means the London 2012 Summer Games are less than a month away. For the average world citizen, that means simply clearing a little time in his or her schedule to cheer on their country. For BMW and Serie Architects, it means overseeing the finishing touches on a massive pavilion that includes an integrated waterfall.  Read More

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPoP) turned on its annual kaleidoscope of horsepower, adrenalin and engineering intrigue this week. The four wheel lap record was shattered by a Caterham, the BAC Mono was the fastest road car, while the cars running against the clock included an Ariel Atom 500 V8, Radical SR3 SL, Aston Martin One-77 and Noble M600. There was a Volkswagen "Schwimmwagen" amphibian, an Edison-Puton Monowheel, and a curious BMW built during WWI using a 45.8-liter V12 BMW aircraft engine. The gallery is a wonderful pictorial celebration of CPoP.  Read More

The Mini Clubvan has made the jump from concept to production vehicle

When Mini unveiled its Clubman-based Clubvan concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, we fully expected that the vehicle would make the move from concept to production line - not only because it filled a growing niche for compact commercial delivery vehicles, but also because Mini has a recent history of taking its concept cars into production. True to form, the company has now announced three different Clubvan models that will be hitting showrooms later this year.  Read More
