Just last month, GoPro introduced the long-awaited LCD screen module
for its viewfinder-less HERO HD
actioncam. At the time, the company stated that the module was the first in a series of BacPac accessories, designed to extend the capabilities of the 1080p high-def camera. Now, the next of those accessories has been released, in the form of the Battery BacPac. It allows an included 1100mAh lithium-ion battery to be mounted onto the back of the camera (which already has its own identical battery), potentially doubling its run time.
You can take that GoPro HERO actioncam of yours, and stick it someplace inaccessible ... after which, you’ll be able to remotely start and stop recording, if you’ve got GoPro’s new Wi-Fi BacPac + Wi-Fi Remote Combo Kit. The company officially released the system today.
GoPro’s HERO HD
actioncam has been probably the
best-known and most widely-used actioncam
for a few years now, but it’s always had one limitation – the lack of an LCD screen. While the camera’s 170-degree fisheye lens is sufficient to capture most of the action, there are always those situations where users want to check exactly how the shot is lined up, or that their recorded footage worked out the way they hoped it would. The company’s response was a promised add-on LCD screen module, although HERO owners have been waiting some time for that gizmo to show itself. Well, they need wait no longer, as GoPro announced today that its LCD BacPac is available for purchase.
With increasingly convenient technology comes ever-inventive ways to take it from one place to the next. Dicota has unveiled the BacPac Control, featuring room for a notebook up to 15” with the added bonus of an iPod
controller integrated into the bag’s shoulder strap.
