Sony has taken the wraps off the NEX-VG20, a consumer HD interchangeable lens camcorder that follows the world's first consumer-oriented HD camcorder with an interchangeable lens system, the NEX-VG10
. The upcoming NEX-VG20 features the same E-mount system that offers users the choice of seven different E-mount lenses. Sony claims the VG20 offers a number of improvements over the previous model, including comprehensive manual controls, improved imaging quality, upgraded sound and ergonomic refinements such as enhanced grips and a second record button.
A new 3D high definition consumer camcorder is about to be released by JVC, which combines a couple of proprietary lenses, a pair of CMOS sensors and a newly developed imaging engine to simultaneously record both left and right 1920 x 1080i resolution images. The GS-TD1 benefits from 5x optical zoom while recording in 3D mode, optical image stabilization, onboard solid state storage and a glasses-free 3D touch panel display.

, Sony has announced it will add 3D capability to its point-and-shoot Cyber-shot digital still camera range with the introduction of the Cyber-shot DSC-TX9 and DSC-WX5. The new cameras will be the first compact digital still cameras capable of capturing panoramic photos in 3D with Sony’s 3D Sweep Panorama function.
Panasonic is hoping to help photographers get much more from their snapping by including a 24-120mm equivalent ultra-wide angle lens on the latest addition to its LUMIX
compact camera range. The 14 megapixel LUMIX DMC-FX75 also promises to bring some clarity to action shots, gives a choice of four aspect ratios and shoots in a choice of high definition and standard formats.
