Acer has announced a new laptop at a press event in New York which features a new hinge system called "Ezel" that brings the display closer to the user for easier Windows 8 touch control. The new Aspire R7 also features a keyboard/trackpad layout redesign, and a speaker setup that automatically swaps left and right output when the screen is flipped over for displaying content to the person opposite. Acer unveiled a big brother to its recently-released Veriton Z280G all-in-one desktop at IFA 2009 in the form of the Aspire Z5610. The new all-in-one unit features a larger 23-inch multi-touch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 5ms response time and 1000:1 contrast ratio. While the Veriton Z280G is more suited to basic home and office use, the Aspire Z5610 is aimed at more demanding multimedia users. Read More
It seems too many netbooks are never enough, with Acer extending its line to include two new models - the 11.6-inch Acer Aspire One AO751h and the 10.1-inch Acer Aspire One AOD250. Acer has announced an all-new 10” Aspire One netbook, complete with Windows XP, integrated Bluetooth , 802.11b/g, Acer Signal Up technology and it can also be specified with a choice of WiMAX or 3G wireless technologies. Weighing 1.18 kg, the new netbook includes a 10.1 inch WSVGA LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, a 160 GB drive and a multi-in-one card reader. Read More
