The response to the release of Windows 7 has been generally very positive, bringing Microsoft some much needed respite from the issues that plagued Vista over the last few years. Acer delivers its first touchscreen notebook and updates the Timeline series

Up until now, touchscreen laptops have been one of two things — either low-resolution and lacking the horsepower to perform heavy tasks, or just too expensive. With the upcoming Aspire 5738PG, a multi-touch screen notebook sporting Windows 7 and some respectable specs priced at less than US$800, Acer is looking to bring a quality touchscreen experience within the budget of a wider range of users. On the same day, the PC giant also announced an update to its Timeline series with the addition of a 11.6-inch notebook and the transition to Intel dual-core processors on all existing models. Acer Aspire Z5610 is a serious all-in-one desktop

Acer unveiled a big brother to its recently-released Veriton Z280G all-in-one desktop at IFA 2009 in the form of the Aspire Z5610. The new all-in-one unit features a larger 23-inch multi-touch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 5ms response time and 1000:1 contrast ratio. While the Veriton Z280G is more suited to basic home and office use, the Aspire Z5610 is aimed at more demanding multimedia users. Read More

Acer today showed its new K10 pico-projector, the first Acer projector to use LED lamp technology. Weighing a fraction over half a kilogram (0.55 kg / 1.21 lbs.) and measuring just 127x122 mm, the K10 pico-projector is one of the smallest and lightest projectors on the market today, making it the ideal companion for mobile users. Acer has announced an all-new 10” Aspire One netbook, complete with Windows XP, integrated Bluetooth , 802.11b/g, Acer Signal Up technology and it can also be specified with a choice of WiMAX or 3G wireless technologies.
