Apple is expected to unveil the next iPhone at its annual mobile keynote this year and as is the case with any high profile product launch, rumors about the device are beginning to materialize months before the event is scheduled to take place. Rare Macintosh 128K prototype for sale on eBay

If you're an avid Apple fan with a bankroll akin to that of the late Steve Jobs, we've found an item on eBay that you might want to add to your watch list. A merchant in British Columbia is selling what they claim to be a rare prototype of the original Macintosh 128k computer based around a proprietary floppy disk drive Apple developed but later scrapped. The opening bid on the system, which comes with the original keyboard, mouse and cords but doesn't boot, is $99,995.00. Read More

Australian owners of the "new" iPad are being offered full refunds by Apple after the country's consumer watchdog found Apple had misled customers as to the device's 4G capabilities in the region. Read More

Along with spreading the word about a certain new tablet computer, Apple also used today's media event to unveil the latest version of its Apple TV video streaming system. The big news is that the new device allows users to view content in full 1080p HD, from sources such as iTunes, Netflix, Vimeo and YouTube. It also features a simpler icon-based user interface, which facilitates the viewing of purchased content that is stored on Apple's iCloud service. Read More

Could Apple be releasing an 8 GB iPad 2 next week? According to a DigiTimes source, Cupertino will be launching a new smaller-capacity iPad 2 at its event March 7 alongside the the new iPad 3. According to the source, Apple will be releasing a 16 GB and 32 GB iPad 3 and an 8 GB iPad in order to compete with more budget priced offerings from other tablet manufacturers. Read More
Apple sends out iPad 3 event invites, quad-core Retina display tablet expected next week

A new iPad is on the horizon. Apple sent out invites today to an event next Wednesday at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, where it promises to “have something you really have to see. And touch.” The event is set to go down at 10am, and is widely speculated to be the announcement of the iPad 3. The tablet is widely rumored to have an updated 2048x1536 “Retina” display, faster processor, LTE, and an 8-megapixel camera. Read More
