New Sony Cyber-shot cameras get 3D capability

Coming hot on the heels of a firmware upgrade that brought 3D capability to its NEX interchangeable lens digital cameras, Sony has announced it will add 3D capability to its point-and-shoot Cyber-shot digital still camera range with the introduction of the Cyber-shot DSC-TX9 and DSC-WX5. Nintendo reveals details of 3DS – glasses-free 3D plus 3D camera on board

Ever since it was first announced earlier this year the Nintendo 3DS has been the subject of much speculation and rumor – mostly centered on its ability to display games in 3D without the need for dorky eye-wear. At E3 Nintendo has finally provided some concrete details for the device and actually shown of some demonstration units for eager hands to get a hold of. Fujifilm reveals a slew of new digital and film cameras

At the PMA 2010 convention Fujifilm’s theme was “Expand the World of Imaging”. The company took its theme literally, announcing 18 different camera models across their digital and film product lines. From compact digital point-and-shoot models to a folding medium-format film camera, Fujifilm unveiled a broad array of new and updated technology including Fujinon optics, HD movie capability, facial recognition (for humans and pets), and 3D imaging. FUJIFILM demonstrates 3D camera, 3D photo viewer, and 3D printing technology

Among the display of new camera models at PMA 2009 FUJIFILM demonstrated a compelling 3D photo and movie technology, that uses a dual lens/sensor camera to record 3D images. These images can then be played back without the need for special glasses on a digital display, or even printed. Both the display and prints generate their 3D effect by use of a special lenticular lens laminated to their surfaces. Read More
