SOUL ships feature-packed Party in a box P910 portable wireless entertainment system

Florida's SOUL Electronics, probably best known for its SOUL by Ludicras premium headphones, has announced the immediate availability of its Party in a box P910 boombox. Originally launched way back at CES 2012, the multi-speaker wireless music streamer features a built-in iPhone/iPod/iPad dock, has an FM radio, both USB and aux inputs, and can also be used as an instrument and vocal amp, a karaoke machine or PA system. It also sports twin analog VU meters, so that party guests can see exactly how much sonic oomph this baby is pumping out.

SOUL says that the Party in a box P910's combination of an onboard digital signal processor with built-in 12-setting EQ and eight side-firing speaker drivers (dual 6.5-inch subwoofers, two 3-inch midrange speakers and four 1-inch tweeters) and twin 1.5-inch midrange drivers to the front offers room-filling performance with a "superb balance of deep bass with crystal clear mids and highs."

In addition to the delivery of aptX CD-quality audio to the P910 from any Bluetooth-enabled device, users can hook up just about any music player via the included 3.5-mm auxiliary input jack or connect an iPhone, iPod or iPad to the integrated 30-pin dock. Videos from the docked Apple device can be viewed on a big screen TV or projector courtesy of the unit's HDMI output port.

There's an FM radio with an RDS tuner, a headphone jack for private listening, and a USB port caters for playback of audio files from a thumb drive, while also being capable of charging mobile devices.

The 19.9 x 13.89 x 9.51-inch (50.5 x 35.2 x 24.1-cm), 27-pound (12.2-kg) P910 includes a balanced mic input for karaoke sessions, party announcements, or to use as a clean guitar amp. The unit can also be integrated into a home theater setup.

Microchip Technology's KleerNet technology caters for low latency and lossless wireless streaming of CD-quality, uncompressed digital audio to up to eight Party in a box units or other wireless speakers, via the P910's two-way transceiver.

There's a carry handle and side-mounted guitar strap pins for portability, and the boombox can be powered by a wall outlet (110 - 240 V AC 50/60 Hz) or an optional Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack. Finally, the P910 has programmable multi-colored perimeter LED lights that pulse in time to the music.

The SOUL Party in a box P910 is available now at a retail price of US$999.99, and comes supplied with a handy IR remote.
