August 22, 2008 Sony has announced the BRAVIA X4500 and W4500 series; wide screen, LCD TVs with full HD 1080p resolution and DLNA connectivity. The X4500 is available in 40-inch, 46-inch, and 55-inch models, with the BRAVIA ENGINE 2 PRO filtering, cleaning and optimizing image data before it’s displayed. The W4500 is available in 40-inch, 46-inch, and 52-inch sizes, and features the BRAVIA ENGINE 2.

The television lines offer a translucent frame and a selection of differently colored speaker covers and the larger two models in the X4500 line feature a new RGB Dynamic LED backlight, which reduces power consumption and provides deeper, richer blacks. They also incorporate Motionflow PRO100Hz technology, which doubles the frame rate by inserting extra frames into the signal, creating sharper fast-moving action. Picture blur is also decreased by “backlight blinking”, which successively switches off horizontal backlight portions of the frame. The 40-inch model includes IB Reduction, which cleans original frames before frame insertion.

The latest generation Digital Reality Creation 3.0 boosts resolution by using advanced up-conversion-technology to stream a Full HD 1080p picture. 4 HDMI ports allow connection for a wide array of HD sources, while DLNA capability allows users to share digital media with VAIO Blu-Ray Disc PCs and other compatible devices. A USB slot in the side of the TV lets users view media from digital cameras in the television's Picture Frame Mode.

The 55-inch X4500 includes six main speakers and two woofer speakers, while the smaller two models include four main speakers and two woofers. Audio can be optimized and customized depending on what content is being displayed.

Available in 40-inch, 46-inch, and 52-inch sizes, the BRAVIA W4500 series features Sony’s ‘Draw the Line’ design concept, and incorporates Motionflow 100Hz technology and IB Reduction.
