For happy snappers who want those photos printed NOW! Canon has released the SELPHY CP770 – a compact photo printer that includes a bucket-like carrier basket to store the paper and ink, along with a power cord, while the optional battery makes the printer completely portable, meaning photos really can be printed anywhere, anytime. The SELPHY also features memory card slots and a USB outlet, enabling photos to be printed directly from a variety of memory cards or digital cameras while the printer’s PictBridge and IrDA technology gives the option to print directly from mobile phones, PDAs and Bluetooth devices.

To ensure image quality the SELPHY CP770 photo printer has a number of photo-correcting and quality features including automatic red eye correction and image optimization, which enhances background brightness and contrast. An ink sublimation process helps reduce blurring and new high-gloss overcoat technology guarantees clear, dry photos that guard against water, oil and fingerprints. Canon’s DIGIC II image processor provides advanced in-printer processing of all images and also gives the SELPHY CP770 rapid start-up times and card reading and image viewing times up to ten times faster than previous models.

The unit features color-coded buttons to make operation as simple as possible and loading the paper and ink is also made easy thanks to the simple cartridge-loading side door and integrated ink and media cassette, which is color coded for easy identification. Photos can be previewed on the high-definition angled 2.5” LCD screen. As well as the standard 6”x4” photo sized prints the SELPHY CP770 can also print on a variety of paper styles, including postcards, photo stickers and wallet-size.

The Canon SELPHY CP770 carries a suggested retail price of US$149.99.
