SanDisk’s Ultra Backup USB Flash drives allow users to securely store and protect their data at the touch of a button. Billed as world first functionality for a USB portable Flash drive, the patent-pending backup technology is designed to quickly and painlessly copy important files, leaving them safe from computer troubles and unwelcome eyes. The Ultra Backup USB flash drives have capacities ranging from 8GB-64GB, and use both password protection and AES hardware encryption.

The Ultra Backup drives will range in price between USD$39.99 and $199.99, and are scheduled for release this April. In addition to the Ultra Backup, SanDisk is introducing a redesigned Cruzer drive (4GB-32GB) and the Extreme Contour drive. The Extreme Contour has data transfer speeds of 25MB/s for reading and 18MB/s for writing, and also includes the dual password/hardware encryption.

“Like flossing our teeth or balancing our checkbooks, when it comes to backing up our digital files, even though people know they should do it, they simply don’t – and that behavior is putting many consumers’ precious digital content at serious risk,” said Kent Perry, director of USB product marketing, SanDisk. “We’re delivering incredibly simple backup to protect people’s most valuable digital content at Main Street prices. With our wide array of capacities and price points, consumers can even choose to store particular file types like digital music or photos on different USB flash drives.”
