The Scene Auto Selector mode automatically selects between six common scene modes: Close-up, Portrait, Landscape, Backlight, Night Portrait, and Night Landscape. Smile Mode automatically releases the shutter when the selected subject smiles and Smile Indicator takes this a step further by judging the strength of a subject's smile before shooting. Blink Warning lets you know if a subject has blinked, provides a magnified visual confirmation, and allows the shot to be retaken immediately.

The Nikon COOLPIX S560 hits the shelves in September 2008 at a MSRP of USD$249.95.

COOLPIX S710

Packing a whopping 14.5 megapixels and 3.6x Zoom-NIKKOR wide-angle glass lens, the COOLPIX S710 also incorporates a number of D-SLR like functions such as Program, Aperture, Manual and Shutter priority modes.

Photo quality is boosted by full-time Optical VR Image Stabilization technology, a new Motion Detection feature (which automatically adjusts the camera to a higher ISO sensitivity setting and shutter speed when a subject is on the move), a Best Shot Selector (which snaps multiple frames and automatically selects the best one) and a high ISO range up to 12,800 (though this is restricted to images of 3M (2048 x 1536) or smaller).

Composition and playback is via at 3.0-inch LCD monitor with an anti-reflective coating and viewing angle of 170 degrees.

Available in three new colors - Graphite Black, Deep Red, and Brilliant Silver - the COOLPIX S710 will be available beginning September 2008 at a MSRP of USD$379.95.
